The advent of a Prophet in the likeness of Moses p.b.u.h.
" Say: Have you considered if it is from God, and you disbelieve in it. and a witness from among the children of Israel has borne witness of one like him, so he believed while you are big with pride: surely God does not guide the unjust people " ( Al-Qur'an 46:10 )
15. tishma'un yakim leka adonai el heeka elohayn navi mikrabak mee'eeheek
cam nee
17. asher dibaru elay hitivu, vi omer adonai
18. va'davaer baphaen camokha wanatatay dabaray navi akiim lahem makrev achayhem tza'unult calashar a' elohim.
Firstly, that a prophecy is mentioned therein as is borne out by such words as tishma'un ( ye shall hearken him ) Yakim ( will raise up ) akim ( I shall raise ) nishtee ( I will put ) dibaru ( he shall speak )
Secondly the prophecy relates to the advent of a prophet as can be gathered from the word " navi" which stands for a prophet and never means god in flesh ,son of god or anything that is in NT .
Thirdly ,the said prophet will be from among the Ishmaelites. The seed of Israel is adressed here altogether and they are told "mee'eeheek" of thy brethren "aheeham" from among their brethren. If any "brethren" of Israel has been given revelation after then its only sons of Ishmael.
The prophecy clearly stands but for Muhammad , albeit, we shall stick to translation, given by King James, for the ease of Christians.
15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me ( Moses ); unto him ye shall hearken;
17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
The assertion of theMissionaries that the term brethren of Israelites is restricted to the community and has ne'er been applied to another can not be substantiated without doing violence to the language and one is driven to the conclusion that here two different communities are
meant.
ALL THE FOLLOWING VERSES FROM THE " SO CALLED " OLD TESTAMENT AMONG CHRISTIANS SHOW THAT THE CHILDREN OF ISHMAEL WERE REGARDED AS BRETHREN OF CHILDREN OF ISRAEL.
Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife. ( Genesis 28:9 )
Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom. 2 Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite; 3 And Bashemath Ishmael's daughter, sister of Nebajoth. (Genesis 36 1-3 )
LET US SEE WHO IS WHO IS BROTHER OF ISRAELITE ACCORDING TO GENESIS
And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.
And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. ( Genesis 16 10-12 )
Even this much is irrefutable for the Missionaries, but, we shall, God willing, stretch all the requirements of the prophecy just to examine the hi-jacking they try to do with a bold face while claiming on the prophecy. Here, below, is the elaboration of requirements.
1. Of thy brethren
Both will trace decent from common ancestor.Ishmaelites are brethrens of Israelites. The noble Qur'an too has put forth this claim when it says:
"And strive hard in the way of Allah, such a striving as is due to Him;He has chosen you and has not laid upon you any hardship in religion;the faith of your father Abraham; He named you muslims before and in this." Sura 22 Verse 78
By this the Noble Qur'an establishes not only that the common ancestor was Abraham and so the ishmaelites were the brethren of the Israelites but also this on account of their bring the followers of the religion of Abraham, which was and is Monotheism, they belonged to one fraternity spiritually. All the prophets ,Abraham, jacob, joseph, and moses submitted to the will of One God .They were chosen by God because they were upholders of His Unity ,and thus apart from their consanguinity of blood, they were brothers in the eye of G-d.The same thing is mentioned in clearer terms else where :
"Most surely the nearest of people to Abraham are those who followed him and this prophet and those who believe in him." Sura 19 Verses
If, infact, Jesus of Bible preached trinity, he was no longer a monotheist and could not claim identity with Moses or any other prophet, nor could be he regarded his brother inasmuch as identity doesnt not relate to the body but refers to spirit and faith in the eyes of God.
2. Like unto me ( Moses )
Muslims believe in all of the previous prophets. We make no distinction between them, nor do we place one above the others . However, they are all human, and as humans they differ from one another in their characteristics. Let us compare these characteristics:
1) Both Christians and Muslims agree that both Moses and Muhammad (pbut) had fathers and mothers. They both also believe that Jesus (pbuh) had only a mother and no father. Therefore, Muhammad is like Moses, but Jesus is unlike Moses.
2) Both Moses and Muhammad (pbut) married and begat children. Jesus (pbuh) never married nor had any offspring. Therefore, Muhammad is like Moses, but Jesus is unlike Moses.
3) Moses (pbuh) was accepted by the Jews and to this day, as a nation, they accept him as their prophet. Muhammad (pbuh) was accepted by his people, and as a nation, over two billion Muslims around the world accept him as the prophet of God.
4) Both Moses and Muhammad (pbut) came with a new and comprehensive set of laws for their people. The law brought by prophet Moses was named the Judaic Law, and the law brought by prophet Muhammad was named the Shari'ah. Is there any law Jesus brought ? He, according to Gospels, came with NO new laws ( Matthew 5:17-19 ). However, its strange that he, according to Paul, abrogated all these laws ( Acts 13:39 )
5) Moses led his people in a secret mass exodus from their hometown to Median in an attempt to flee the persecution of their enemies. Muhammad (pbut) too emigrated with his followers from their home town to Madinah in secret in order to flee the torture of their enemies. Jesus, however, never led his followers in a any sort of mass exodus from their hometowns . Therefore, Muhammad is like Moses, but Jesus is unlike Moses.
6) Both Moses and Muhammad (pbut) died natural deaths. Jesus (pbuh), is claimed by the Christians to have died ignominous death on the cross. Therefore, Muhammad is like Moses, but Jesus is unlike Moses.
7) Both Moses and Muhammad (pbut) lie buried in the ground. Jesus (pbuh), however, is claimed by the Christians to abide in heaven. Therefore, Muhammad is like Moses, but Jesus is unlike Moses.
8) Christians claim that Jesus (pbuh) is Saviour. No Jew or Muslim, however, claims that Moses or Muhammad (pbut) was Saviour. Therefore, Muhammad is like Moses, but Jesus is unlike Moses.
9) Both Moses and Muhammad (pbuh) began their prophetic missions at the age of forty. The Bible tells us that Jesus (pbuh) began at thirty. Therefore, Muhammad is like Moses, but Jesus is unlike Moses.
10) Both Moses and Muhammad were born circumcised, whereas Bible tells us that Jesus got circumcised. Therefore, Muhammad is like Moses, but Jesus is unlike Moses.
3. I will put My words in his mouth
God talked to Moses and this discourse forms an integral part of Mosaic law. God says about Muhammad in Qur'an.
" Nor does he speak out of desire. It is naught but a revelation that is revealed. ( Al-Qur'an, 5:67 )
We can find in the Qur'an more than four hundred verses of the form "Say (O Muhammad) ":.. In other words God Almighty is putting His words into Muhammad's (pbuh) mouth and commanding him to speak them.
If Jesus is God ( God's refuge ) then his words would be his very own and God cant not put his words into Jesus' mouth.
4. He shall deliver whatever I shall command him.
Moses put down the commandmenst he had received from GOD on the tablets for the israelites and asked them in the last days of his life to 'gather unto me all the elders of your tribes and your officers, that i may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them, for i know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves and turn aside from the way which i have commanded you(deutronomy,31:28-29)....
now what QUR'AN says"o apostle!deliver what has been revealed to you from your lord"(5:67).
In compliance with this injunction the prophet Muhammad had the Qur'an put down in writing and conveyed it as well to the people and hundreds of people had comitted QUR'AN (entirely)to their memory in the life time of holy prophet(pbuh);he also addressed the people
on the day of the last pilgrimage and asked if he had delivered the message to them and they replied:Yes.On the other hand jesus of bible did nothing to secure his message New Testament is a production of men no denial that it may have popular traditions of Jesus.
5. The punishment of the opponents
The Bible tells us:'Whoever will not hearken unto My words which he shall speak in My name ,i will enquire it of him (Deuteronomy.18:19)
Similarly , we find in the Quran 'but pharoh and his disobeyed the apostle .so We laid on him voilent hold "(73:16.)
Pharaoh and his Army were drowned while the opponents of the Prophet were destroyed with war as was Promised :"Surley your enemy is the one cut off " ( Al-Qur'an 108:3 )
While Jesus of Gospels was vanquished by his enemies.
6. False Prophet will be put to death
Deutronomy 18:20 The prophet which shall presume to speak a word which he is not commanded to speak, shall die.
This is borne out by the Noble Qur'an in such words as
"And if he had fabricated against Us some of the sayings,We would certainly have seized him by the right hand ,then We would certainly have cut off his aorta." (Sura 69 Al-Haqq Verse 44-47)
What should one say about the Jesus of Gospels in the light of this crucial test, when it is erroneously believed by Christians that he was put to death ?
7. The Prophet will give prophecies
"When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord,if the thing follow not,nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken."( Deutronomy 18 :22 )
" So they have indeed rejected the truth when it came to them; therefore the truth of what they mocked at will shine upon them. ( Al-Qur'an 6:5 )
That this prophecy came to pass in the minutest details needs no elaboration.
There isnt one single prophecy in the Qur'an that went wrong. While Jesus of Gospels made false prophecies:
Jesus said to the thief on the cross
"Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." Luke 23:43
This obviously has to be false, for Jesus was supposed to lay dead in the tomb for three days following his crucifixion. And if Missionaries affirm that Jesus wasnt put to death then Christianity falls down within " three " seconds.
